Every cleft surgery around the world involves a journey, each journey unique, emotional and perhaps with some hurdles to pass through. In countries like Ethiopia, where there are already barriers to some specialist healthcare the emotional and geographical journey for a cleft surgery can be especially challenging. Please consider supporting smile journey and providing access to life changing surgery for a child with a cleft lip or palate.

Raising awareness about noma
Noma is a gangrenous infection which starts in the mouth and is typically associated with less developed areas of the world that has insufficient water supply and that experience food insecurity, making good hygiene difficult and causing malnutrition. One in ten people who have Noma will survive.
