We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and adaptable individual to join our UK team support with fundraising efforts and assist with general admin. The ideal candidate will have an interest in international development and/or global health or wish to pursue a career in fundraising.

Job Summary

Project Harar is an International NGO that offers health outreach services to people living in rural and disadvantaged areas of Ethiopia, who are impacted by cleft lip and palate or complex facial disfigurements. The vast majority of our programmes are run within Ethiopia via our Addis Ababa office and our UK office is targeted towards fundraising and marketing. 

Core Responsibilities 

Trust and foundations fundraising: Involving modifying, updating and sending out grant proposals and reports to grant making bodies. This is a highly sought out skill across the not-for-profit sector and requires high attention to detail. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate research and analytical skills to support proposal and reporting content.

Day to day administration tasks: Working on data input on fundraising/donor related databases. We are looking for someone who has experience in using Microsoft Word and Excel, we are also looking for a high level of written communication and good numeracy skills. Supporting other departments and colleagues with administration, for example filing email communications and receipts. Maintaining the organisation of online filing systems. Checking and sending post.

Events: Supporting the organisation of online and in person events. The ideal candidate would enjoy and have experience of working as part of a team.

Required Skills:  

Strong experience using Microsoft Word and Excell

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Good numeracy skills

Flexibility to undertake a variety of tasks and manage a varied workload

Ability to show initiative, solve problems and work effectively within a team

Desired Skills:

Experience organising/planning events

Knowledge of organising/constructing project budgets 

Critical thinking and problem solving

Knowledge and understanding of the global health sector

This is not a remote position, We are based in Projects co-working facilities, central Brighton.
