Become a corporate partner

Project Harar seeks to develop meaningful and long-term relationships with corporate partners for mutual benefit. Not only are we able to do so much more with corporate support, but we can provide companies with opportunities for staff to involve themselves in our cause. Whether it is joining a surgical mission to Ethiopia to see first hand the life-changing work we do, volunteering at our Gala Dinner or raising funds through a challenge  event, Project Harar will work with you to ensure that you receive maximum benefit from your commitment to our cause.

We would be delighted if you considered a partnership with us on any of the following:

  • Our Surgical Mission which will take place in February - March 2019
  • The extension of our cleft programme into other regions of Ethiopia
  • The expansion of our nutrition programme for children and mothers in the Afar region
  • Past patient research on the effect of surgery on their lives and prospects
  • Enhancement of organisational governance and planning

Please contact us if you are interested in supporting these life-changing programmes.

Trusts and Foundations funding

We have been fortunate over the years to have received vital and generous trust and foundation funding for our programmes.  These funds have enabled Project Harar to deliver programmes in even the most remote areas of Ethiopia and to expand from the more densely populated Oromia region to the Southern Regions, Tigray and Amhara. Trust and Foundation funding continues to account for a significant proportion of our overall funding and we are immensely grateful for this support.

Help to give hope for the New Year to families like Abel's!

When a child is provided with cleft treatment, you not only change their lives, giving them a chance at a happy and hopeful future, you also touch the lives of so many others. Abel and his mother's story is just one example of the impact your donations can have. Abel's treatment now means that his mother will be able to return to school and finish her education, enabling her to provide for her family and give back to her community.

    Abel's Story

When Abel's mother fell pregnant, she had to drop out of school, but she hoped that after his birth she would be able to return to pursue her dream of getting an education. However, when Abel was born with a cleft lip and palate, she realised that he would require additional care that would prevent her from returning to school. After hearing from a local doctor about Project Harar, Abel received the life-changing surgery he needed and his mother can now achieve her dream of going back to school

    Amen's Story

Amen came to Arba Minch General hospital to receive surgery for his cleft lip, he is four months and two weeks old and came with his mother and father. The family found out about Project Harar’s programme from Facebook, his mother told us that her “husband uses the app and he saw one of the posts on Facebook and we followed up on the date of the mission. After that we travelled here so Amen can get his surgery.”

    Spotlight on Cherubism

As part of our Complex Surgical Mission, we treat patients who have very severe cases of facial disfigurement. Some of these include Noma, large facial tumours known as Ameloblastomas, Trismus (Lockjaw) and abnormal bone tissue growths such as Cherubism. This article discusses Cherubism, a rare genetic condition which has affected some of our patients.
