50 patients with facial disfigurements treated in 13 days by 25 medics on our Complex Mission, and we need your help to make it happen.
The cases we'll be treating include Noma (a facial gangrene); tumours; animal attack injuries; burns; and other serious facial conditions.
We'll be welcoming patients in Addis Ababa from early June, assessing them and prepping them for surgery. On 18th June, we will begin the 13 days of surgeries. Once our patients come out of surgery, we continue taking very good care of them.
This year we're focusing on improving post-operative care and training medics in Ethopia, so patients can go home with fewer complications.
Our wonderful medical volunteers are using their holiday time to volunteer for us, but they need your help to cover the costs of their flights and food.
The Medical Team fundraising target is £31,500, or £1,260 per person.
To help us get there, visit our Justgiving page and donate £10 or whatever you can.
Every amount, however small, helps to give a child a smile and a future full of hope.
Keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter accounts for updates on our progress and the fundraising events we're running. If you want to get involved but don't want to make a donation, we're also looking for community groups to help us collect supplies of toothbrushes, toothpaste, pyjamas and medicine for children. We would love to hear from you.
