Our Complex Mission 2018

Our Complex Mission 2018

50 patients with facial disfigurements treated in 13 days by 32 medics on our Complex Mission, and we need your help to make it happen.

In February 2018 a group of doctors, nurses, nutritionists and surgeons will be flying out to Ethiopia to help treat some of the most complex facial disfigurements. The cases we'll be treating include Noma (a facial gangrene); tumours; animal attack injuries; burns; and other serious facial conditions.

We'll be welcoming patients in Addis Ababa from February, assessing them and prepping them for surgery. On 19th February, we will begin the 13 days of surgeries. Once our patients come out of surgery, we continue taking very good care of them.

This year we're focusing on improving post-operative care and training medics in Ethiopia, so patients can go home with fewer complications.

The fundraising target for our 2018 Complex Mission is £70,000 to treat 50 patients.

Every amount, however small, helps to give a child a smile and a future full of hope.

Keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter accounts for updates on our progress and the fundraising events we're running. If you want to get involved but don't want to make a donation, we're also looking for community groups to help us collect supplies of toothbrushes, toothpaste, pyjamas and medicine for children. We would love to hear from you.
